High School Staff
Various publishers are used for our High School curriculum. Social Studies, Science, Math, Spanish, and Bible classes use BJU materials while English classes read a variety of classic novels. Students take a Bible course each year of high school and all high school students participate in quarterly service projects, as part of their Bible grade. All high school courses are year-long, except for Spanish 1 & 2 (semester courses). Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to take dual enrollment courses through the CCCP program at Wilkes Community College. In addition to academic requirements, our seniors must participate in the senior mission trip (1 week in the spring) and complete 20 hours of volunteer service prior to graduation, during the course of their high school career. The high school staff sets high academic standards because we believe that all students can learn and succeed with the appropriate support. Please visit our Alumni page, where you can read testimonials and view colleges that our graduates have attended.
Kristi Drake | Spanish 1 & 2 Teacher, Social Studies Teacher [email protected]
Recently, my husband and I transitioned to Miller's Creek from neighboring Ashe County. We enjoy ministry and travel as evangelist, proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. Prior to this new position at Millers Creek Christian School, I have worked as a substitute teacher and adjunct instructor at Wilkes Community College teaching business management and economics. Having the opportunity to witness student's success is why I have transitioned to a career in education. I thoroughly enjoy working with and mentoring high school students utilizing biblical standards. I am excited to be teaching American Government, U.S. & World History, and Geography here at Millers Creek Christian School.

I am so excited to be a part of this amazing school and know the Lord is going to do amazing things here! I am married and have 6 children and 5 grandchildren. I also have 2 rescue dogs and 2 rescue cats that keep me very busy!

I was born and raised in Illinois. I served in the Army for 9 years. My husband and I have 4 children, Gage, Riley, Madelyn, and Creed. We are members of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. I have coached basketball and soccer to ages spanning from 2 years to 15 years of age. I have degrees from American Military University. I enjoy reading, listening to documentaries, all things sports, and anything outdoors. I look forward to helping your child grow in Christ.

I'm a sinner saved by grace, husband to Lisa, and father to Sami, Kayla, and Trevor. I was a financial planner for 15 years and during that time taught Successful Money Management seminars to employees of AT&T and RJ Reynolds. After financial planning, I made a career move in which I started and ran two web design and digital marketing firms. In my careers, I've seen the practical application of mathematics learned at the high school level. I look forward to teaching the students at MCCS that the math they learn in their high school years will help them in any career they choose as an adult and in many of their personal responsibilities and pursuits. In my spare time, I love to write.
