I moved from the coast of Southeastern Virginia to the foothills of North Carolina in 2010 with my husband Chris. We have two precious daughters and live in a community that we love. I am beyond blessed to serve at MCCS where I can support students, staff, families, and our community as we prepare our students academically and spiritually to be the salt and light of this world. I am married to my wonderful husband of 37 years, Gary. We have two children, Kristy & Cole, six grandchildren (one in heaven) and two great grands (another one to come later this year!!) Our son attended MCCS from when he was in PK3 until he graduated from MCCS in 2014. He is married to another MCCS alumni, Kayley Anderson Badgett, from the graduating class of 2015. Their daughter, our youngest granddaughter, Katy Jo, is attending MCCS here in our PK3 class this year. She is the first child to attend MCCS that both of their parents are alumni of MCCS! They are expecting a little girl, our 7th grandchild in January!! I am a member of Calvary Baptist Church where I love to sing in the choir, work on our church bulletin, work with our van ministry children and help with custodial duties. I have been blessed to be a part of MCCS since 2000. I have watched the Lord grow this ministry from just a preschool to now graduating our 15th class of Seniors this year in May of 2025! I love my job and I am thankful to be serving you and your family here at MCCS!

I moved to Wilkesboro from Wilmington in 2006. I have been married to my husband, KW, for eighteen years and we have one daughter, Maddy. Maddy has attended MCCS for the past 8 years and I am delighted to join the amazing staff here. I have worked in the banking and finance industry for 18 years. Our family enjoys the outdoors and taking nature walks with our dogs Boomer and Millie, half basset/half beagle brother and sister.

Hi! I'm Mrs. Pruitt, the high school English teacher here at MCCS. I have been married for 14 years, and have four children. My oldest girl is autistic, and she has taught me more than I could ever imagine about love and life. I have two boys (7 and 5) and two girls (9 and 2) who bless my life every day. I am so thankful for my salvation, my Jesus, and I love worship music. I love reading, cooking, sports, and outdoor hobbies like fishing. I have been an educator for 16 years and still think it's the best job in the world. My students and fellow teachers are like family to me. I'm so blessed to be at MCCS!

My name is Poppi Welborn. I have been teaching at MCCS for 10 years, and in K4 for 9 years. I am also blessed to teach High School Choir, K4 Choir, 1st - 2nd Grade Choir, and 3rd - 5th Grade Choir. I love my job and this school! If I could describe myself in one word it would be PINK: it's my favorite color and makes me truly happy! I have been married to my Prince Charming, Ray, for 19 years, and we have two sons, Bryson, who graduated last year from MCCS, and Brenyn, who attends MCCS. I am blessed to have a fantastic family support system consisting of my mama, mother-in-law, sister, two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, three nephews, four nieces, a god-sister and her family to which I am an honorary aunt. I thank God for my time here and look forward to seeing how He will continue to use and bless MCCS students, staff, and alumni.
